Shopify order CSV anonymizer
Remove customer personal data from a Shopify orders export before you share it. Nothing leaves your browser: the file is processed on this device and never uploaded.

What happens to your data
This page is plain HTML and JavaScript. It makes no network requests once loaded. Your file is read, cleaned and turned into a download entirely inside your browser.
The download keeps every column of the original export, in the same order and with the same headers, so it opens and analyses exactly like a normal Shopify export.
Removed (cells are emptied)
Replaced with a code
Email is replaced by a one-way code (HMAC-SHA-256 with a random secret that exists only while this
tab is open). Rows from the same customer get the same code, including across several files processed
together, but the code cannot be turned back into the email. Reloading the page produces different codes.
Safety net for all other columns
Anything that looks like an email address becomes [email removed] and anything that looks like a
phone number (7 or more digits) becomes [phone removed], for example in tags or discount codes.
Columns holding only IDs, amounts or dates (such as Id, Source, prices and
timestamps) are left out of this check.
Personal names typed into free-text columns such as Tags or Discount Code cannot be
detected automatically, so please do not put personal data there.
Kept
Order number, dates, statuses, amounts, line items, discounts, taxes, tags, country and province.
